I've bought some hops from CML and the emails I get from them are oddly personal but strike me that there a standardised response with my name and town added. Presume everyone gets these emails, it's nice but slightly unnerving for some reason.

Wasn't sure where to post this, hope it's ok here.

Yes, always quite amused by their messages. There's nice little touches like putting in a print out with a few extract recipes in with my order or a guide to how to store their hops / yeast as well.

Great company to deal with :D

I usually reply and tell them what it is I am planning to make. Generally turns into quite the little email conversation.

Yeah, I liked the automated facebook reply from the overworked robot. I've often replied to them as well letting them know what I was planning and how a previous order had worked out and had a bit a of a chat. This email was just really big which made it feel more automated as it would take a while to type out by hand to every dispatch, but it's like an invitation to respond and chat so struck me as odd. Visiting would be amusing.

Yes, agree with previous. The responses are quite personal, may be generic but it's a nice touch. And as said previously when you ask a question they are very friendly and helpful. I've been buying my hops from them for a while now, and I just moved onto using their yeast. I have two pale ales on the go using their ale yeast. Looking forward to seeing(tasting) the results...Crossmyloof get my thumbs up. athumb..

Yep...they're bonkers alright but provide a great service. Hops are always well packaged and smell amazing. Communication is spot on. I've used loads of their yeast...all the beers yeasts and the cider and had consistent results with everything.

Ohhh, cider yeast you say. I think I'll be placing an order tomorrow to sort out a few TCs I've got planned..

I've noticed the same, but quite like it, it gives a personal touch in this corporate age which just feels nice.

Their yeasts do seem quite good too, cant comment on their other products, but I like their style

I used their yeast almost exclusively for about a year. Had some good results but decided to move onto liquid yeasts. For the most the liquid yeasts have improved my beers alot, but they are alot more expensive.
I made a second batch of raspberry wheat beer using Whitelabs Kolsch yeast but my girlfriend says the previous one made with CML kolsch yeast was better. It certainly went clearer with the CML yeast.

I agree, it's a refreshing change to something very automated from a "do not reply" address, and they're always friendly for a chat, he also did remember that it was a California Common I was going to be brewing. I use their hops a lot, order from them unless I'm putting in a grain order elsewhere.

I've used there cider yeast myself for turbo ciders, pretty good stuff though the end result if pretty dry so if you like sweeter cider you might want to think about adding sweetner or some sugar solution / syrup when serving.

As a registered HMRC cider producer  I can confirm my T/C is very popular with everyone and CML cider yeast gives a lovely dry clean finish.
Then I started to offer it with either Ginger, Strawberry, elderflower syrup and it just sells out!
I've been mainly CML for over a year and all products are consistantly high quality at a great price. clapaclapaclapa CML!!!!

I used them last week for the first time. I don't think I'll be going anywhere else for grain or hops.

Fast, personal and bloody funny email about the packing dude wanting to rush off to the pub right after packing my order.

Yeah I have had that and when I had an issue with them they were very on teh ball to help out..

Sadly I just do not rate their yeasts at all.
