Hi all I live in East Midlands ,Derby to be exact and I am struggling to find food grade CO2 bottles for the keg. Anyone know a good supplier preferably rent free as I would expect it would last a while. Delivery or pick up within a reasonable radius say 40 miles would be fine.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

If you fancy a trip to the delights of Stoke on Trent I got a 6kg bottle for 40 quid on Wednesday. No rental. Then 10 quid a refill after. In Blythe Bridge about 2 mins off the A50.

You might need to contact them as they are only there early doors. Eg 9am ish as they go out on the road delivering.

Chap was very helpful. He even refilled my 2kg cylinders for a fiver each.

I get mine from Gas and Hire Ltd in Chesterfield. £15 a cylinder (with £50 deposit for cylinder) delivered to the door in Bakewell for that price. Worth a call to see if they cover Derby cos I assume most of their trade is pubs but are happy to do private clients too.

Its a bloody big cylinder BTW. My mate who's on it all the time has been running his entire operation for over a year on one of these, inc. pressurised transfers, forced carbonation and serving.

Thanks mate just the ticket gone from nearly giving up to 2 options now cheers for the reply. :thumba:

Any tips for Essex? Currently it seems like hobbyweld
Hi Mike I'm over in Hockley - I'd say Hobbyweld are the best bet I've done plenty of looking online- there's Rochford and Rayleigh branches of Mark 1 Hire.

It was £97 with the deposit on the first bottle and £35 for refills (normal pub bottle size). I just got the normal CO2 not food grade - it's the same gas in the bottle as far as I can see.

Give them a call if you want one and they will reserve ready for you to collect

Nice thanks Pete

I called Rayleigh and they have in stock. They don’t sell regulators so I need to get one of those. Then I’m good to go!

I got a 2kg cylinder from Thameside Fire Protection in Basildon. £30 for the first one then £5 for refills.

They refilled a 6kg cyl for me.I had bought it off Ebay on a whim and was refused a refill at a couple of other places.Thameside filled it up while I waited for about £15
