Hi All,

I'm fairly new to brewing, with only 2 brews under my belt. Interested in trying an Extract Brew DIPA kit from geterbrewed.com but would appreciate different opinions on two things..

- There is a small amount of steeping grains in the recipe (200g Dextrine, 200g Wheat). In what volume of water would you recommend steeping? I've read 1L for 1kg of grain, but submerging 400g of grain in 400ml of water doesn't seem possible..
- What dry hop schedule would you recommend? There is 90g Columbus, 50g Centennial and 50g Simcoe for dry hop. I was planning on beginning the dry hop 7 days after pitching yeast, and leaving them in for 7 days, at which point hopefully the FG will be resting. The other dry hops I've done have been on a NIPA where i went in during fermentation and then again after 5 days, but interested in what folks think will be best for this style!

cheers!

400g of steeping grains might want 1 litre of water @ 65-70C. If you have an oven that you can set to 50C, I would leave the grains in the water and stir them once half way through a 20-30 mins steep.

I would go 9 plus 5 days for the dry hops and perhaps rack to a secondary FV (if you have one) for a week before bottling. 190g seems a lot, but that does seem to be the fashion.
