Hi, I've got a quick questions about adding hops to a kit beer:
I've been advised in the past that when using the hop tea method I should throw the 'hop teabag' into the fermentation vessel along with the water it's been boiled in, but I've seen other advice saying to avoid this.
Which way is better? Or does it matter?

I'd advise against putting the teabag in the fermenter.
You could end up with grassy flavours.

Add your hop tea to the wort before adding your yeast, chuck the bag.
Then maybe think about dry hopping towards the end of the fermentation.

If you're doing a hop tea put it in close to packaging. I've done early hop teas and they are a waste of time compared to a late hop tea or dry hop. And this is split batch side by side comparisons.
