Drinking rye beer trial 1 (name to be creates once happy with recipe), bit too bitter but on right track, whilst bottling raspberry wheat and brewing rye trial 2. Making blackberry milkshake IPA tomorrow morning

I’m drinking a Fourpure Juicebox IPA. One of my favourites

After seeing this post, I bought one of these yesterday and drinking it now.
Like all Thornbridge beers, I think it's a very subtle beer. Not as in your face as Elvis Juice (which I now find very chemically). Nice sharp aroma and certainly does not drink like it's 7.4%! :cheers3:

Just finishing off one of these from tesco for £3 a can. Its very good and amazingly drinkable for 7.4%.
Its all about the grapefruit but the hops come through more as it warms.
If you like elvis juice you'll love this

Bugger!
I was supposed to quote this in my post above.
Perhaps it really is 7.4% :laugh8:

Went out playing Snooker last night, only semi decent thing was John Smiths and that was pretty **** !

So was the quality of snooker as it happens !

How much rye did you use. My last batch I used 600 grams but didn't get a great kick from it.

Thwaite's dark mild (can), Guinness canned draft with a shot of Jamesons in each, Tetley's original bitter (can) and Wilko wheat beer kit (not the raw kit, the fermented result....). I have a horrible stinking cold, which has given me an awful hacking cough for 2 weeks - no more than 2-3 hours of sleep a night. So I've decided on the old kill-or-cure: its certainly cured the cough (anesthetized the throat), don't have to get up tomorrow - retired and living alone, so balls to the world, basically; i am slightly worried I might regret this tomorrow..... but only slightly, 'cause I'm drunk! Watching brew vids on youtube (current - yank comparing his micro brew setup vs. his old kitchen set up; very - well, quite - interesting).

First beer of the night is Curtius which is the nicest witbier I have ever tased. 7%, very smooth and aromatic, but not too hoppy. Surprisingly good.

My misses bought this for me! Black IPA. Strong at 5.5% but amazing aroma from the hops in contrast to its dark malty taste!

Cheers guys!

Green Mill Brewery, BLACK OPS IPA 5.5% (More very very dark ruby ipa than black) leafy on the hop side. Nice tight foamy head. Biscuity in the mouth. Would like it to pack more of a punch with hop aroma. A sessionable pint nonetheless.

Tonight I'm having a Budweiser for the first time in probably 4 years (someone gave me a few bottles, I didn't buy it ).

But you know what, it isn't actually too bad at all. OK it's not the most flavourful beer in the world, but there is some subtle pils malt sweetness, it's crisp and clean and honestly much better than many craft beers I've had.

Hey hands up! There are days when I drive to the offi and pick up a chilled 4 pack of Carling just to get that crisp thirst quencher (which it is for me). Nothing wrong with it! Cheers

I used around 1KG for 10L batch and seemed good, just needed to amend hops slightly, as slightly too bitter, saying that I've experimented with the recipe and have gone with exactly 600g this time so will let you know how that turns out

I only used 600 grams for a 20 litre brew. Probably double that the next time
