Covering up the taste of alcohol

I've brewed an imperial stout and it has a very complex flavour, however there is a finishing flavour of alcohol. If I said this is a barleywine I could probably get away with it, but I want to keep it as an imperial stout if possible. Is there a way to get rid of/cover up the alcoholic flavour? I was thinking of adding orange extract anyway and could add more cocoa nibs.
 
Is it harsh/solvent alcohol? If so, I've heard that some fusels will oxidise into esters over time. In that case, unless you're in a hurry, why not just give it time?

If you're trying to get this beer ready for a competition or something you could try fruit. I once racked a slightly alcoholic imp stout on to a load of tinned figs and the result was amazing.

Not sure if orange or cocoa would have a similar effect as I've never tried it.

It's not too harsh, it actually sits quite well overall, first sip it's a bit in your face but subsides the more I drink. I gave some to my wife to drink who said the same pretty much. Good to hear fruit solved it for you, was the taste of figs strong?

Yeah the figs came through really clearly in both aroma and flavour. I did a split batch - think it was about 7 litres on maybe 7 tins of figs. These:

Maybe try a split batch? Put half on fruit or something else and leave the rest to condition out. If the alcohol isn't harsh I imagine it will age out quite well
