Well, that's what I was looking forward to. Got back from the gym about 10:30, 3 hours after leaving home, had second breakfasts and was assigned lawnmowing duty first off.

SWMBO has been going on about painting the back fences for ages and I thought we only had the fag end of last times creosote replacement left, so I signed up for an hour's token effort, "fer to shut 'er up". Expected to spend the majority of the afternoon in the garden with HB in hand.

After the usual moral support from the said Dearest One - you know the score - "You missed a bit there", and "why are you standing on a plant", or the ever popular "when are you going to do the top bit?", and rounded off with the inevitable "can you just clear up outside?" it's 5pm and I'm goosed.

Of course, I am also making the tea, as that's how it works, I do the cooking and she does "everything else".

Hope you all enjoyed the weather today, at least as much as I did. acheers.

I finished work at five this morning with the intention of getting "things" done...
Being tired I've managed to shout at the kids and bottle a batch of AIPA...I'm now QC on the fox bat bitter...
Bank holidays are rubbish...first Easter off for years...

Time for a change of wife, I should say.
Can't put it plainer than that.

Bank holidays are ****... be so much better if we could tag them on to our personal allowance instead, to use when we want. Anyroad the sun was out today and the missus suggested going off on the mobike. I succumbed but ought to have known better... gridlocked roads, everyone going nowhere fast and me getting more irate by the minute until enough was enough and we headed home, whereupon she carried on where she'd left off with her ironing and I went to sleep.

I worked today as normal but get to choose either treble time or double and an extra days holiday, off Monday.

Well for my BH Friday I cycled into town, crossing Waterloo bridge which had all the Extinction Rebellions stuff/camp on it. So i stopped and had a mooch around that. I then carried on to see an Andy Warhol photograph exhibition at the Proud gallery. I then cycled over to the city of London, knowing it would be empty (apart from the area around St Pauls which was full of tourists as always) because all the city workers wouldn't want to spend their BH anywhere near work. Then did a self guided walk of city gardens, which took me ages to do because I kept stopping in the gardens to sunbathe. I then cylcled home and spent the next couple of hours catching more rays in the park across from my building

Looks like MyQul had the lucky ticket today.

While I did manage to brew today, mine has been similarly challenging as everyone else this afternoon and I got an earful about this morning's brew from not just wife but kids as well.
Rest of the weekend to be spent with in-laws, so it's gonna get worse before it gets better.
I'm off to grab a couple of HBs before the weekend gets worse...

Lucky you. I would much sooner have worked today ( and paid accordingly ) than being sat around bored or getting mad in traffic. Do it all again Monday...

Had a brilliant day with the kids today. Can’t believe we actually had a bank holiday and it was actually warm and sunny!

At least you know where you stand with your ironing. I thought the whole thing about biking was to weave in and out through the warp and weft of gridlocks!

At normal times yes, but bank hols prove to be a blockade too much and for what... wherever you land is gonna be chocker. Monday looks like being a bed day...

I don’t think I’ve ever had a job that doesn’t do this, even in the public sector.

I got home from work desperate to get the Sunderland match on the telly (I’d already missed the first goal), to find SWMBO had taken it upon herself to cut the grass.
“Why’s the lawnmowers spewing grass out the back?”
“Do you need to empty the grass box?”
“What grass box?”
By the time I helped her get the grass box sorted, I’d missed the second goal.

She did an alright job (once she attached the grass box) but missed a couple of bits and didn’t do any of the strimming/edging so that’s my job for this morning. In her defence she was trying to help me out because I spent the first half of the week dying from tonsillitis.

Last minute call to cover a compassionate so I spent Good Friday in a 2.5 hr chopper flight then a nightshift on a rig I've never been on before, fortunately it was a quiet night.
