I don't have room for sacks of malt and what not so while i'm waiting for the boil thought i'd ask where do most of you buy your AG recipe kits from? My first one back after a 2-3 break is from The Malt Miller. I saw some on Beer Hawk I think it was but they were all out of stock.

If this Landlord clone comes off okay I want a lager/beer kit which I did see on Beer Hawk but as above was OOS so if anyone can recommend one and from where that would be great like English malt with lager hops.

Geterbrewed are always good for recipe kits (although their single hop ones are a little dark). They also have the custom AG kit builder which I used exclusively before I got my grain mill.

Hi Smokey

I have done four AG kits from 'The home brew shop' as follow;

- Single Hop Nelson. This is one of my favorites, ABV came out higher than expected. Best drunk young as the hop flavour does diminish over time.
- American Double Hopped IPA. Pretty good. I thought this had a slightly vanilla taste, but was over carbonated (most likely my mistake)
- Black IPA. Seriously moreish, again best drunk young.
- The Way to Amarillo. This one wasn't completely to my liking. Very bitter and had what I would describe as a burnt tangerine taste.

I would be happy to brew the first three again in the future, but probably not the 'Way to Amarillo.

You don't have to buy sacks of malt, many suppliers sell it in 1kg or 3kg bags. I normally buy 10kg per order and keep it in a plastic tub in the cupboard, along with other grains and hops.

Aye, I ended up going back to Malt Miller as I wanted particular malts for a Coniston Bluebird/Durham Magus experimental mashup kit;
Thomas Fawcett - Halcyon Pale Ale Malt, Fine crush
Thomas Fawcett - Spring Barley Pale Ale Malt, Fine crush
Thomas Fawcett - Pale Crystal Malt, crushed (to steep)
Crisp wheat malt, crushed.
Oat Husks
Still got some first gold and ordered some Brook House Hops - Challenger 2018 Harvest.
Just need to book some pop-up brewery, kitchen time,,:rolleyes:
