Hi all. New member/first time brewer here with a question. My father recently retired and as a retirement present I bought him a home brew kit. As he used to work in Belgium a lot when I was a kid, his taste is for Trappist ales and wheat beers and thus dislikes what he considers over hopped New World styles. I also love Belgian beers but I was hoping to brew some more ‘modern’ styles too. We’ve currently got two Brewferm kits and the Mangrove Jack’s Saison on the go. So my question is are there any kits that might ease him in to enjoying an American style IPA? Or should I maybe look at under hopping one? The Young’s New World Saison also looks interesting as a ‘hybrid’ style he might enjoy.

Thanks gents, apologies for the absolute thesis I’ve just written.

Festival Razorback, I made loads of them and loved the dry hopping zingacheers.

Ooooo, just remembered, Youngs Premium AIPA was another favourite. Big hoppiness again.

No peeking in the FV to see how it's doing and give them plenty time to clear. Enjoy!

Both of the kits mentioned above are excellent but if you want something that isn't too full on the Young's American Pale Ale is pretty good and not as hoppy as their IPA.
