FF is such a great hop. Slightly cheaper than the big American hops and just as tasty - works great as a “single hop” (even though it’s actually 7 hops). I’ve got 225g sitting waiting for my next APA.

Never used FF, must order some in.
I’m using some Nelson for the first time on Saturday as a Smash.

It’s a great lazy man’s American hop.

I’ve loved NS when I’ve had it in commercial brews but I’m too tight to pay the prices places charge for it

Here’s yesterday’s gravity sample after 3 weeks of fermenting a DDH NEIPA, using BeerSmith 3 as a style guide. Was just about to cold crash before bottling, but the bugger has started to bubble again after the hop addition of 2oz Citra (mesh-bagged, after sterilising). Gravity 1.009 down from 1.062 so circa 7%ABV. Not sure what to do now, given it’s slow-bubbling again, and panicking! Any thoughts folks?
Ps smells & tasted superb already, imho - just hope I can hold on to it!

When did you add the dry hops?

Pitched then been away for almost three weeks, so added 2oz bagged Citra hops at 20 days, Saturday (2 days so far, but wanted out tomorrow @ circa 72h).
FYI, There’s 5.5 oz of “brewday” hops already in (Pacific Gem at 60min, Cascade, Amarillo and Citra at 15 min). 9 1/2 lb of Cristal and Pilsen DME with 2 packs of rehydrated Us-05 yeast pitched to aerated wort. It was vigorous!

Was the 1.009 fg taken before the dry hop? If so take another and see if it's fallen. I've been hearing on podcasts lately that getting a couple of points of additional attenuation with dry hopping is a thing. It could also just be the hops knocking out some of the existing CO2.

Sometimes I find that pellet dry hops act like mini nucleation points and the wort almost fizzes when I add them

Not carbed yet, prolly see in the back just started carbing.
400 grams of dry hops in it but not tasting massively hoppy
Although I've been on Amundsen Desert in a can all day so palate shot

Day three, the foam has mostly dropped, but still burping every five seconds or so.
No-boil brown ale.

First ever all grain brew! Citra, Simcoe and Mosiac dry hopped pale ale. 3.4%. This is after 3 weeks in the bottle. Clarity not great but no protofloc added this time. Great aroma, with tropical notes and a small amount of bitterness on the back end. Super happy with this as a first attempt. The hoppiness does subside pretty quickly, and I think next time I would add more towards the back end of the boil, along with a hop stand. It got the OH seal of approval too, so need to get another brew on as this batch won't last long!
