Bet Starsan sales have rocketed though.Yes I bought some in a blind panic Doh!!

I don’t think a thread that generates four pages of replies including some good discussion about sanitising techniques could be classed as pointless!

Does StarSan have a shelf-life in its undiluted form?
The 1 litre bottle I bought two years ago expires in 2021.

I've just bought 4 litres as it's much cheaper in that size per ml. I've got to live till I'm about 105 though to get through that quantity!!!

I'm not a chemist but I can't really see it going off. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I've managed to sell a couple of litres already to my dad and brother.

Upon seeing this post I checked my stock and decided to purchase aa new bottle, but in my haste did not read the description properly from my search and I ended up with this Five Star Saniclean. Does anyone know if this is usable in place of StarSan?

Yes, it's basically a low foaming version of starsan. Afaik the recommended contact time is a bit longer and the dilution rate is different so read the label.

Very interesting post, it would seem the vast majority of you rate Star San very highly, as does the home brew book I'm reading. Unfortunately not looking so good on the Star San front for complete newbies to the brewing like myself as every online outlet I've tried so far has Star San either 'out of stock' or 'awaiting stock' asad1

Does anyone know of an available supply?

Star san is great. You can make a no rinse sanizer from bleach and vinegar if you cant get any star san

Thanks Guys, I'll keep any eye on Malt Miller but I also thought that article on bleach was very good and will certainly give that a go on my next batch :-)
