It's Friday evening. I spent the morning trying to track my new mobile phone with GLS, who seem to have lost it, the useless craunts, and lunchtime and all the afternoon trying to sort out tax issues with booking companies who really don't want to don't want to lift a finger for the exorbitant fees they take. The whole thing's got rite up my passage (ie blow-off tube) I can tell you.

The real question is what am I NOT going to drink tonight. No water, no tea, no coffee.
I'm going to start with a couple of pints of red to take the edge off my caution and them really hammer anything with hops in it.

Yes I’ve had that before. The mother in law tends to make sure it’s pale/amber stocked for when we’re here rather than dark beers though. I’ve never had cause to complain!
 
I'll be having a Vienna lager followed by a Father Hooks bitter, whilst trying to find something decent to watch on Netflix.

Next up is Verdant Don't Tell Gus! Which at just over £7 is, I think, the most expensive can I've ever bought.
Packaged a month ago its intense hoppiness and quite rich at 8%, but so smooth and soft.

7 months and I've taken a step back ( should read these forums more)

Its a Woodfordes Admiral Reserve ( my goto norm ) but I've added Wilco enhancer + medium spraymalt with new addition 25w aquarium heater ( it nearly blew my airlock off)

it tastes bad, am adding lemonade, SG 1085 FG 1020. 17 litres on a 16 litre 2 can pack.

Ignore the Bradfield Brewery Belgium Blue beer mat, that is my ambition.

Another wheat beer -

Blue Moon 5.4% ABV, and "Brewed with orange peel". Obviously the hops were just not citrusy enough for this one. Well carbed but less head than I expected from the wheat, but what it had stayed. Very citrus and I like this one, so maybe that is the way to go on these? Tasted more of lemon or tangerine than typical orange squash taste. Medium bodied from the wheat probably and pretty good. Would be happy to buy this again.

I love Mws Piws. Cwrw Eryri being my favourite, but they've never brewed a bad'n imho.
 
St Austell’s ‘Sayzon’ quite like it - tastes nicer as the glass warms up actually.

That's the same thing that was wrong in my tripel: lack of head. But I got the advice to tilt the bottles until they're on the side (or the crate, I guess that's easier) and then put them back up again after a few days. To get the yeast floating again. That might help with building up just that extra bit of co2.
 
Going for it tonight. It's been a testing week.
  • Car written off due to cambelt failure.
  • Legs feel like wooden posts after last weekends stupid amount of running.
  • Getting nowhere fast at work as usual.
So far it's been:
  1. Vienna IPA - "Marchin' Juice"
  2. Marstons Pedigree
  3. My own Atlantic Bitter
  4. GH Dunkelweizen
Just heading out to the cellar to retrieve...
A Kolsch and another IPA.

Sorry about your car... If we were meant to do all that running we'd have four legs...as for work...if there's someone higher paid it's their problem...
Enjoy your beers...I'm having none tonight...had 4 nights off it as managed to wangle a block of days instead of 2+2 so get a full 4 off starting Sunday. Booked an early dart tomorrow as me and the Mrs is stepping out...
