I work in retail and the only time I get 2 days off together is when I take some holiday. Does the consensus think that supermarkets should be open on Bank Holidays?

I hate bank holidays you are forced to have a day off when you don't need or want one, they should do away with them and give us an extra days holiday instead.

I don't see why supermarkets shouldn't be open even if at reduced hours it gives you something to do on the unwanted day off.

I am glad Screwfix are open today as my front door lock broke and i could not lock the door from the outside (new lock £10 and an easy DIY job) i would have had to call a locksmith out and i bet i wouldn't have got much change out of £100 if i had.

They should never close. What would happen if I ran out of bog roll and/or curry ingredients at any point?

I had never heard of split Weekends what a crazy idea, did you take the job knowing they were the hours?
