Phenomenal game last night.

Just shows it’s not about 1 single player.

Proud to be a Liverpool fan
Fellow Liverpool fan.

Had no expectations last night, was just hoping for respectable score. Amazing outcome!

Disappointed that the league hopes are slipping away, but can't take anything away from Man City who have been great all season. Just taking some quiet solace from the disarray of certain others.

City fan here (Norwich not Manchester :laugh8:). Definitely not plastic.

Born and bred in Merseyside and followed Liverpool but have had Crystal Palace season tickets last 5 years. Quite passionate about the eagles, always really torn when Liverpool come to Selhurst.

I am a City fan and as I have said in other threads was there when we were s**t, I wasn't born in Manchester I have never lived there does that make me less of a fan than a Manc, I don't think so.

I cannot remember the reason why I started to support City all those years ago but its probably because the default club to support at the time was United as they were winning everything their support is now worldwide does that mean the vast majority of United fans are plastics?

I have never understood why not living in the city/town of the club you support makes you a plastic fan we don't have a football team where we live so why does that make me a plastic fan?

It only makes you a plastic fan if you never go to watch them, I'm a Spurs season ticket holder, but never lived in tottenham. I started supporting them before I started school back in the 60's. Currently trying to find a way to get to madrid cheaply enough for 1st June acheers.

It only makes you a plastic fan if you never go to watch them

Again i disagree, if i lived in London and was on minimum wage what chance would i have of going to a City game in my view if you support a club through thick and thin and you have supported the same club all your life you are no less a fan than someone with enough spare money to allow them to go to games, in my view plastics are the ones who support a team until they lose form then switch to another more successful one.

But if you've never seen your team play, even when they were in league 1, your not a supporter. That's just jumping on a successful bandwagon. That's why a supporter, who pays to watch his team would call someone who never does, but moans about their performance, a "plastic fan".
Your not supporting anyone by sitting in front of the telly, except sky maybe.

I have but not at the Etihad.

It doesn't mater what league your team is in if you cannot afford to go to games or cannot go for another reason (medical etc) it doesn't make you a plastic fan especially if you have supported that team for many years, spent many pounds on their kit and they were not successful when you started to support them.

That's just jumping on a successful bandwagon.

I have said here in the past i probably started to support City because everyone i knew at the time supported United so that rules me out!

What about all teams that are not successful SWMBO and my lad support Newcastle and have done for years they don't go to games and are not glory hunters does that make them plastics?

That's why a supporter, who pays to watch his team would call someone who never does, but moans about their performance, a "plastic fan".

I used to moderate a football forum years ago (it has been discussed here in the past) and i can honestly say i have never heard one clubs supporter call another supporter of the same club a plastic that is usually used when trolls visit another teams forum (in those days usually man united) to cause trouble by calling the majority of their fans plastics.

Your not supporting anyone by sitting in front of the telly, except sky maybe.

So using your logic these are not England fans as they haven't gone to the game. aheadbutt

Just asked ‘tinterweb to define plastic fan:

“ A plastic fan is essentially a fake fan. ... A plastic fan is one whose allegiance to a team is not determined by geography or family ties. He or she is a glory hunter. In one sketch, Roger Nouveau admits that he stopped supporting Manchester United 'because they weren't doing so well' and switched allegiance to Arsenal.30 May 2013 “

There ...

You’re a plastic Chippy :laugh8:

Good luck in the CL unlike some fans we don't have an axe to grind. (it would have been different had we not won today) :laugh8:

It’s not important when you’ve won it as many times as we have tbh.

If we don’t win, I won’t begrudge Spurs the win. English team and all .

One of your fans said similar earlier on the radio gutted they didn't win the PL today but looking forward to the CL final.

United fans are turning on Ole tonight (on the radio) how fickle are modern day fans (of all teams) he hasn't had time to get his own players in and these idiots want him out, who would want to be a PL manager these days.

One has just this second said they jumped the gun appointing Ole on the back of a very lucky win against PSG and he has been found out now, who needs fans like that. aheadbutt
