The 80s ruined the saxaphone. I really hate saxaphones now.would it be the saxophone or the piano?

I think that was the gateway that started the 80s sexay saxy horror. I used to like it but now it's on the horror list, possibly at ground zero.Baker Street!
Oh come on, Hazel O'Connor- Will You? Best Saxophonist solo ever. The 80s ruined the saxaphone. I really hate saxaphones now.

I thought that sounded familiar. I've just googled 80s british cop shows and Bergerac and Shoestring both use bits from that solo with either accordion or mouth organs as a distraction. It's all neon lights outside strip clubs and black and red bedding from the Argos catalogue.Oh come on, Hazel O'Connor- Will You? Best Saxophonist solo ever.
Excellent solo.Oh come on, Hazel O'Connor- Will You? Best Saxophonist solo ever.
I had forgotten about Prong. Very sweet and delicate like Guinness and Jeyes Fluid. Thanks for reminding me.I do like Morphine. Probably because the sax is not a gimmick, but the main feature. But I never listen to contemporary pop. Heavy and raw guitars is the game for me (example).
..and she was inspired by 'bleeding gums Murphy'..Lisa Simpson does it for me.

.....Dexter Gordon, Stan Getz, Sonny Stitt, Paul Desmond, Sonny Rollins, Art Pepper , Cannonball Adderley, Ben Webster, Michael Brecker, the late great Bob Berg, Zoot Sims, Gerry Mulligan, Dave Sanborn, Grover Washington Jr, Lester Young, Sidney Bechet and from the UK, Tubby Hayes, Andy Shepherd, Barbara Thompson, Courtney Pine and even good old Ronnie Scott ....to name a few. Raphael Ravenscroft (Baker Street ) might perhaps get a look in for some, but not me.One would forget jazz, Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Wayne Shorter, just to name the most known. Also, here, the sax is not a gimmick but a real part of the music.
