I just saw these today. The inflator is only £4 and comes with one sparklets type co2 canister, but they also sell more at £4 for 4.

Any good for a quick recharge of a nearly empty keg if you fit a valve stem to the cap?

It uses the threaded type canisters, and the inflator part seems to have a slowly adjustable valve rather than simply on or off.

I was thinking it would make an interesting bottle filler pistol type of thing - with the gas in the handle of the bottle filler. Then you would just need one line from the keg. or useful just to purge bottles before filling.

Could also use it for a bike I suppose too. ;)

A lot of the co2 bulbs sold for bikes aren't food grade, not sure if it makes much difference but apparently the non food-grade ones can contain traces of oil or other contaminants.

Don't know if there's any way to check by looking at the bulbs?

Is it worth potentially ruining a keg of beer for? Think how effed off you'll be if it happens. I have a soda stream canister on stand-by, when the inevitable happens. Wouldn't that be a safer bet?
