Chippy, thanks for explaining the abbreviation B&M, I live in Leicester and we don’t have such a store.

When I visited the B&M store in Crawley a few weeks back there was no homebrew stuff on display and when I asked if they stocked it they had no idea of what I was talking about.

Hi @Rog.T.B. I live just outside of Market Harborough LE16 and there are two here(not seen any home brew in either tho)

The MYO kits are in the Range stores IIRC there was talk about them being sold in B&M but i am not sure if that has gone ahead.

My range (derby meteor) had a 10l American IPA "starter kit" for £25. Personally I thought it was a rip off as it was just the b&m American IPA kit inside the b&m starter bucket kit minus the cardboard packaging. They were £7.99 each at b&m when first launched and dropped to £5.99 each before selling out.

^ absolutely, I picked up the very last American IPA kit and Starter Bucket kit all for a tenner just the other day at my local.
For what it's worth; it seems the MYO website is under construction and had a survey not too long ago asking about other beer recipes and looking at expanding out of just The Range and BM Stores, so these could see a return to B&M in the future?

I visited the Leicester Range store to find only 1 beer kit priced £14, to much for me, but did come out with paddle, priced £1.99, so not a wasted journey.

Hi I am from Derby if you find any decent Homebrew stuff around Derby please let me know . The only ones I know are in Long Eaton and ilkeston. I have to buy online.

Ditto, my allowed budget is very minimal, so always on the look out for a bargain. I keep meaning to go to the ilkeston shop cause the pics on Google maps look good and it's online store is cheaper than the long Eaton one! I'm resigned to buying cheap wilkos/range/b&m kits and experimenting by adding hops. Crossmyloof eBay store seems to be cheapest for hops.

And yeast, by a mile

Don't know if anyone has a Boyes store local but their homebrew section has a good variety of yeasts at cheap prices too.

Hi all

I bought 2x10l tequila and lime kits when they were reduced (£3.99 each) with the plan of not adding adding hops instead of the flavour sachet.

Browsing the crossmyloof eBay hop list I spotted some called Motueka and it peaked my interest as being a suitable candidate.

Has anyone used this before as I have some questions:

1. Are the hops worth the premium price?
(25-50% more than other options)
2. How much would be enough for a 20l batch?
3. Would it be best as a tea or dry hop late addition?

Any ideas/opinions/alternatives would be appreciated.

Found them in the Milton Keynes Winter Hill branch yesterday.
Bizarrely they were past the tills by the exit door, so I looked
round the shop, couldn’t find them, pushed past the queues at
the tills to get out, then found them.
Cleared out my garage yesterday and found four pints of this brew.
Tried one last night. Still drinkable - hops have a nice bite, and it’s carbonated sufficiently.
