I know @Leon103 has/is still running the May comp but I thought I should get in here early to give peeps enough notice.

I am judging Dark beers this month!

If anyone has anything Dark (dark is loosely defined) then I will be happy to conduct tasting and scoring with a panel of friends and family.

Let me know if you have something to send by PM and I'll get the address to you.

I'll post back a bit later in June when I would look to complete the judging.

Happy brewing!

Hi uDicko. New here. Can anyone enter this? And also, what's the latest you'd need to receive them by? Many thanks, Ben.

Hey @Robinson Brew Co. I'm fine with you sending it.

The rules I think people are still working to are here and no mention of age of members.

Meaning entries should be with me before the end of June and I'll have this judged and feedback issued within 2 weeks (heading into July)

Trust that helps!

Thanks for that. I had a read of the rules whilst awaiting a response, but appreciate your reply. I'm hoping my Peanut Butter & Chocolate Porter is ready in time. If not, I'll wait for the next round.

Got 2 potentials so far this month.

Still loads of time to get something sent over. Anyone got anything that's "dark" then I'm happy to review and compare for competition.

Can you PM me your address please. I'll throw my Peanut Butter Chocolate Coffee Porter your way.

I don't have anything particularly good but PM your address and I'll send something to bump the numbers up at least.

Could I ask what constitutes a 'dark beer' for these purposes?

I don't know the rules in detail and if there is some classification some where from previous comps. Someone who's been here a little longer than me can hopefully help.

If I were going to have a stab I'd say ESB is dark, that level upwards to stouts.

Please someone correct me though

That sounds ok with me
