Went to Sutton on Sea with the Mrs. Had a pint of London Pride at the beach bar, which was bang on form. Homw now, having a bottle of the house lager / helles (Its not ready, needs longer conditioning) then a bottle of coopers stout.

One of the last bottles of my Event Horizon imperial stout, currently 4 years old and better than ever. Shame I've only a couple left :(

Coopers Irish stout. Not very malty, my bad for using just dark DME. Some strange tastes in this, not at all stouty but still nice. Not as good as coopers original stout that's for sure ;)

This bumper haul. There had better not be any poison in here...

I did the GH Vanilla Bourbon Stout back on 14 Oct 2017 and have just poured one of the last few bottles. There is still a very prominent whisky "whoooosh" on first tasting. I mistook it for a run-of-the-mill sort of a stout, Guinness clone or something, and chilled it severely.

Not one I would ever do again.

Come to think of it, very few of my "strong" beers have been worth the trouble. Only exceptions might be the Belgians. My Old Ale Fruitcake (from the Randy Mosher Book) is particularly awful, BTW.

Motueka single hop Lager. First time I have used this variety. Wished I had brewed more, like 200l. When it was first kegged I got some lime notes but it's mellowed out now. I froze the keg so couldn't drink it then it got massive overcarbed. Had to vent it for a week but we'll worth trying this hop. Really like the colour and maltiness. Floor malted Bohemian and floor malted MO.

Very much enjoying my 5.4% ABV Märzen/Oktoberfest on a sunny evening after about 5 weeks in the keg. It's the first time I've used Tettnang hops and if this flavour is anything to go by then I'm really looking forward to sampling my hoppy pilsner made with 100% tettnang once it's carbed and conditioned:

My house ruby mild, that I opted to brew with S04 this time. I won't be brewing anything with with this yeast again, I just don't like it. Back to Liberty Bell for this one next time! The mild is otherwise great.

Had a whole pack of Poundland lemsips over the day - got a fever. I bloodly love them. My illness even got me delivered cheese on toast with a marmite scrape underneath and brown sauce without asking what did my last slave die of. Ahhhh, being illl : champion.

I am formerly of the "No, I'm NEVER ill, I can do this, out the bloody way!" brigade then I fainted in the bathroom and my head smashed through a towel rail and I woke up with calls of "What was that bang?" and I tried to make up excuses for why my head was bleeding and the towel rail was in half. So... cheese on toast it is.

Nice one, Clibs - what's the basic recipe on that? I started one today but it might be a bit of a fiasco as it's got pale malt, biscuit malt, wheat, kolsh yeast and columbus and cascade. I'm brewing at 16.5c - that last bit is about as much about kolsh as I know. I might put, like, 150g of sugar in if it doesn't attenuate to give it a dryness - but frankly my mash was up and down like a whore's drawers as mamma used to say.

EDIT: It's also got 54 IBUs because I found all my beers not bitter enough - that's 1.1 BU:GU ratio. I've got clixies on that something somewhere is where it's supposed to be. If not there's a style somewhere that it's perfect.

Well here's hoping you get better soon. Now, I reckon I could knock up an interesting cheese on toast using Stilton cheese and milk, dash of mustard etc etc.... :thumba:

Well earned pint of my Hophead Clone MK2 on the brewcave patio.

this time with Amarillo as well as cascade. Possibly heavy on the cara but refreshing all the same.
