Having brewed a few half decent (but not good enough) wine and Coopers kits around 10 years ago.
I dug out my buckets from storage late last year as Mrs C had collected lots of hedgerow fruit to make wine and pies. Whilst visiting the LHBS I thought it would be rude not to check that the buckets were still working (any excuse) and picked up a dinted Coopers Cerveza kit and some DME which was also on offer.
I hate bottling day with a passion so decided to give the re-use mini keg system a try. I collected up the required amount but as with most things I tend to get a little carried away and so hit eBay bought a corny (will always sell on I argued) and a basic CO2 setup. I was so impressed with the ease and quality of the end result that within weeks I raided eBay and gumtree again and built a kegerator with 2 taps, a third tap for stouts and got another 2 cornys.
Next stop partial extracts.
Made a fantastic chocolate and espresso stout, and a few Munich blondes using BIAB and a big saucepan. Only one way to go from here.
Wort pan and chiller sorted and all grain commenced. Following some great recipes on the web I have made a Hoegaarten clone, Peroni a like and a couple of general pils efforts.
The only problem I have now is my neighbours. All the husbands have discovered a love for walking their pooches in the evening, usually around when they see me pottering around my garage. My cornys don't seem to last very long now but i've never been so popular and its amazing how much free joinery/help with jobs/gardening I am getting done for free now lol.
