J.Corbyn called him Johnson several times in an interview refusing to call him by his christian name but have you noticed reporters are calling him Boris not Mr Johnson or Boris Johnson people are speculating its because Jeremy doesn't want to give brand Boris a boost, does it matter which name reporters use when referring to Mr Johnson?

Edit to add - This is not about your view of the new PM its about their use of his christian and not his full name.

I've always thought of him as Boris. Have never really considered there to be an agenda about it, but if someone in politics mentioned 'Mr Johnson', I would have to stop and think who was being referred to. Much like Mr John and Mr Stewart are less recognisable than Elton and Rod. It all sounds a little bit childish.

Bit off topic but i used to think Jezza would make a good PM but am begging to think he isn't even the right man to lead Labour and definitely not the right man for the PM job, i would like to see what Thomas Anthony Watson would bring to the table.

That just about reflects my experience, too, although I tend to favour Keir Starmer.

Well I think that Jeremy Clarkson would make an awful PM with all his racist views etc. :p wink...

I have said many times i like Andy Burnham and think he would do a great job, if you use Northern Rail for your daily transport you will nod your head in agreement throughout this video.

Hi Chippy, I'm with you 100% regarding Jezza, I met him a couple of times and was impressed, but I'm afraid his lack of action over the last few months has changed my opinion, also caused me to leave the labour party.

Messing up someone's name can also be meant to insult the person. That's why I always use a lower case t when referring to our #*%&##president.

Post deleted, i take it you didn't read this part of the OP - "This is not about your view of the new PM its about their use of his christian and not his full name"

I think it is very derogatory and rude not even using the Mr it is extremely rude and shows contempt and lack of respect for his opposite.

I thought that was a wind up so checked, they should call him Pfeffel :laugh8:

Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson is a British politician serving as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Leader of the Conservative Party since July 2019. He has been the Member of Parliament for Uxbridge and South Ruislip since 2015 and was the MP for Henley from 2001 to 2008.Wikipedia

Much as I hate the awful, self-serving w@nker of a Eton educated millionaire half american..... (can you tell my view yet) as long as he is addressed as "The Prime Minister" in the House then all is correct. Corbyn can call him what he likes outside of the chamber. Corbyn only has to judge and tread a line of public opinion when not in the house. If he called him the Prime minister, then he'd please and displease some, if he called him Numpty Toff he'd please and displease some.

Not necessarily. Back in the early 1970s I received a letter from Bangor University, offering me a job. It came from a Professor Fogg and began "Dear Cook". After some initial surprise at the apparently curt phraseology, I realised that this was in fact extremely polite - it made us seem more equal that using "Prof Fogg" and "Mr Cook"

Clarkson*'s methods would be perfect. Most of the errant MPs might start serving US after a sound thumping !
