Loads of choice at Steel Coulson here in Edinburgh. Unusual in it’s a bar serving good ales I’ve not frequented before.
Did have a visit to the campervan taproom beforehand(its 5 mins away) great sours.

Friend brought a mini Ghost ship round plus Amarillo pale and my brown porter...for a change the Indian was bang on...I could stop up all night...but I'd better Not!

Those mini kegs have the primary Adnams yeast strain in them...

House dark mild. Last 3/4 of a King Keg so it's low in carbonation, but I just pretend I'm a farmer in 1955 in the Bricklayers Arms, a now non existent pub from our village that didnt have pumps, just barrels behind the bar. It shut some time in the 1970's - even with underage drinking, I missed it by a decade.

Another night on the flat dark mild for me, so I'm back in the imaginary Bricklayers Arms. This is what it looked like, btw. It's just a house now, mostly obscured by extensions.

 
Great! @jjsh reminded me of two old jokes:
  1. The man who tried to divorce his wife 'cos she spent most of her time in the Bricklayer's Arms!
  2. When Micky Mouse was told he couldn't divorce Minnie because she was mentally ill; to which he replied "I never said she was mentally ill, all I said was that she was fecking Goofy!"

That's some set up! I seen some method to put a small steel pot in the curry,put a piece of hot charcoal in the pot and pour ghee over it then put a lid on it.
 
Coming to an end of an idyllic 2 weeks in Anna Maria Island on the Florida gulf coast. Been drinking a ton of small brewery Kolsch and American Pales from Tampa, Sarasota and wider afield.
Going to miss them all when I go home Saturday.
 
House accidental Helles - this bottle had been in the fridge for a week and was lush. High hopes for this one.

Then a couple of pints of the end of the King Keg of my house Dark Mild. I'm nearly convinced that the recipe is spot on but the yeast, S04, is wrong. Will brew again using a different yeast.

Have you tried the West Yorkshire 1469 from Wyeast? I used it on a dark mild and it came out great.

I can imagine it does - Timmy Taylor do do a cracking range of milds! I think I'm going to give it a go with re-cultured Fullers yeast initially, but I'll keep it in mind.
