My first legal bike was a Suzuki 80 in 1967 on "L" Plates; on which I was run off the road and finished up off work for nine months! aheadbutt

I decided to NEVER ride a small bike from there on, so in 1981 (recovered and divorced) I bought a BMW1000RT and rode it for many years on a Kuwaiti International Licence that was issued in Saudi Arabia, after I had frigged my UK Driving Licence.

In nearly fifteen years of illegal biking I never had an accident or got stopped by the Police, but when I became an HSE Manager I decided that I really ought to get a valid licence, sat my test and had another 10+ years of happy and legal biking! athumb..
Dutto, I can't believe that as an ex policemen you actually broke the law for all that time. I thought all policemen were 100% honest.:hat:

athumb.. athumb.. athumb.. I'm sure they are - however ....

I think I really became an "ex" on a forecourt at Watford Gap service station when a young armed Policeman said "Feck off sonny!" when I asked him why he was stood on the petrol station island with a gun at his hip!

At the time, I was 42 years old, a Commissioning Manager in charge of 1,200 people and on my way to give a lecture to some of the Directors of the company I worked for; on the other hand, I was riding a motorbike and wearing a crash helmet so??? :laugh8: :laugh8: :laugh8:

Why anyone would give this particular person a firearm still defeats me! :confused.: :confused.:

I cycled past The Olympia Exhibition centre earlier today. The was a huge queue of almost exlusively middle aged, rather rotund geezers. What's going on here I thought to myself. Then saw a sign saying, 'Great British Beer Festival' :laugh8:

If anyone is considering going, make sure you don'tget your weeks mixed up and turn up next week as that week is 'Drag Wordl Uk(nothing to do with cars) :laugh8:
