Hey all! I'm am totally new to the whole brewing scene.

Recently gotten into cider again (at the age of 31) and really enjoy trying scrumpy type ciders and going to breweries.

I wanted to try to make my own cider but I'm totally lost and will admit that I'm way over my depth, but still want to learn.

After a quick Google search I was led here and looking at a few posts I feel I can learn a wealth of information here.

Welcome to the fourm.

Making cider from whole apples is quite a lot of effort, but there is a simple cheat by starting with supermarket apple juice and making turbo cider. This would be a good stepping stone towards the full product. Lots of advice and recipes on here.

Welcome, Mstersmithson. Bournemouth and Poole were my old stamping grounds. Cider from apples is well worth making. If you haven't been already, go down to the Poole Stable on the High Street, they used to sell some decent stuff. Best of all, go onto Charlie Newman's website at the Square and Compass in Worth Matravers and look out for their open day when they make the cider. You might even be able to camp up there. Well worth a visit and a good talking to.
Cider making from apples is a complete pain in the arriss if you haven’t got a Vigo scratter and a hydraulic press. I haven't got either, but still do it by hand every year, swearing never to do it again.

Hi and welcome to the forum.
Got back into brewing about 3 years back after 25 years and decided recently to give Turbo Cider from Apple juice of the shelf ago which is totally new to me and now have 2 on the go.
Not a cider drinker but hey who now's.
Enjoy.
