Hi

Poured a irish stout and I often notice with my brews a fizz coming up from the bottom of the pint. Is it just the carbonation?.

Nah, will check for scratches at the bottom of the glass when I've finished this ipa I've just Poured. I remember the pubs used to do this back in the day to get a decent head

Yes its the carbonation it also gets magnified if you are using a nucleated glass(ones with etchings in the bottom) these are put there to aid the co2 to come out and carbonate the beer however stout should be drunk with a low carbonation level so a non-nucleated glass is better
