The second lager was meant to be my Vienna lager but for some reason it was a gusher, I haven't had a gusher in years.
I quickly moved onto this from cloudwater. More of a West coast ipa if you ask me but nice enough.

My first batch of brew is still fermenting, so I'm sticking to the Beer52 box that arrived last week.

Just had a Tiny Rebel Cali, American Pale Ale. Very tasty. Would like to take a go at making something similar in the future, but will probably wait until I have a bit more experience in getting the basics right athumb..

Elderflower champagne, first attempt at this,I stuck the petals ,stalks ,flys, bugs the lot in the demijohn,

its not bad at all,I hadn't heard of it until this year.acheers.

:laugh8: I keep persevering wih the sours but just can't aquire the taste - the solstice had a lovely aroma but taste like lemon juice
Have you tried Thornbridge Bakewell sour? It's really quite mild and very tasty too. All sours are good with food, try one with a sweet dessert and you might find it complements the sugar in the food rather well.

Aldi 1874 that's in cans that look like 1664. It's absolute pish. No better than the Galahad cheapy cans. It has that universal unpleasant taste that lots of cheap lagers have.

I don't know if it's storage or what, but we bought 12 different cans of Polish lager to do reviews and most of them were unreviewable because they all had the same off flavour in them as the 1874.

I have had a couple of mild ones recently that I have enjoyed (think the Thornbridge was one of them). I like the idea of trying with a dessert, but wouldn't it taste super-sour after the sugar?
We have a cheesecake in the fridge. I just need an excuse to go back to Tesco....

Can I have the recipe please?
Hi @goodolpete , this is what I did,
Picked 12/15 decent sized 'Sambucas Nigra' flower heads(4 inch+) , shook them a bit, had a good look at them for bugs ,added them(stalks and all) to
700g sugar/ water syrup,
Juice and rind pulp of 1 lemon,2 limes, topped up dj. I left it for 4 days hoping wild yeast would start fermentation but it didnt so racked the must to clean dj, added 1 tsp wilko wine yeast and 1tsp nutrient and I noted" the juice has taken on strong elderflower flavour and pink colour" fermented for 2 weeks ,bottled with 10g sugar per ltr.Been in bottle for 6weeks. At first I thought it lacked a little in aftertaste but as the glass went down this improved.:beer1:

Nice pint of Henrietta the Hen, West Coast IPA from Hillstown Brewery in Randalstown, near Get'erbrewed.

Still waiting for my Razorback IPA to finish fermenting so I can get it primed & bottled. Hopefully it will be ready for a weekend away in November

This offering from a microbrewery dpwn the road from the villa I've been stopping in. Despite several hints Mrs has not acquiesced to an afternoon down the tap room there. Its better than all of the regular mass produced lagers which are all terrible even for lagers but still nowt to write home about. Roll on home time.

I have very fond memories of holidays in kefalonia, beer wise it was always either mythos or alfa

Burton bridge porter, umm yea, I said it's trash for after leaving it for a few days, it tastes weird but certainly the alcohol content is coming through now. Hmm should I retract my comments? Nope, it's weird stuff that's given away free with certain brew equipment - I think that says enough. But it is getting me a bit tipsy though, at least there's the upside.

Yep mythos and alfa prevail along with Fix in bottles which was my favourite. Also lots of Amstel and Heineken which from my limited Greek (*none) I think are brewed in Greece under supervision and taste like Mythos anyway. Schweppes tonic also tastes weird and local wine is luke **** but very cheap. That said amazing holiday and given the above factors relatively abstemious so liver has had a rest. May hit the Metaxas tonight mind
