New CML yeasts

Anyone noticed these? They come in 10g packs, enough for 20L apparently, which seems very honest of them as I suppose most people's brew lengths are a bit over that (mine aren't, which is a happy coincidence). Pricing is mixed, but mostly a bit more than their current range, and brings them in line with MJ / Fermentis / Danstar.

Interested to hear from anyone who's tried them
 
I ordered CML yeasts last week and didn’t notice any new ones in their range. What are they?

Edit - just been on the website, they have a “Beirm” range of yeasts - US hazy Pale Ale, Norsk Ale, Celtic, New World, Trappist and Berlin Pilsner. very interesting. 3 for £5.74 (before discount) is still very good value too.
 
I wonder if they floc better than the current range...
Yup, that's what raised my eyebrows too: the powdery character. I managed to rack and bottle without leaving more yeast than expected, but still not sure whether to have it in my standard assortment.
Having said that, those new yeasties look very interesting...
 
I've found their Kolsch and Cali Common both perform well and taste great. Not sold on the real ale and US pale. Yet to try the Belgian although I have one in the fridge awaiting a brew day. There are a couple in the new list that interest me; what's a Celtic yeast, Irish or Scottish do we think?
 
Could you keep pre-existing yeast discussions to the previous thread. (Push it, push it really good)
 
I bought 3 packs of Helles the other day. Beer is fermenting now. Let you know what its like in 4 weeks.

Brewed a couple of lagers (a Vienna and Czech Pils) with the Hell yeast. I'm a big fan. Thought the Høg Norsk was horrible. Far too attenuative and left a horrible bitterness.
 
I've picked up a couple of packs of the Pia yeast to use next in a couple of hoppy session beers. I tried a beer at HB club made with it and was impressed. Will report back in few weeks.

2 packs of the Pia yeast seems to have more or less ripped through 30L at 1.048 in 3 days.

Having just seen it mentioned in the CML haze yeast thread I though I should report back on the Pia yeast.

After using it in a session APA I repitched some into my wet hop brew and have been impressed both times.
It ferments out very quickly and is very clean (I did start fermentation close the bottom of the temp range at 16C) but it also leaves a little bit of residual sweetness without being heavy - I'm defo going to get some more to try in a stronger, hoppier AIPA.

I plan to brew at the weekend using it. Mosaic and citra pale ale
