Newbie from Belfast here. I noticed a few other folk from NI on here, which is good to see.

I bought myself a beginner's brewing kit a couple of weeks ago and have already bought 2 extra FVs, along with other brewing equipment. I've just bottled a batch of Blueberry cider (using an 'On The Rocks' kit) and have a Tequila & Lime lager kit fermenting. I think I'll pick a recipe from the forum here for my next batch and steer away from using a kit next time.

Next things on my shopping list are a bottle rinser & bottle drainer tree, to make bottling day a little easier.

Can't wait until the cider is ready to sample...

Evening. Just recently joined and have spent quite a bit of time browsing to try and pick up some knowledge.

I'm a bit further north than you, but there seem to be s few folk active here in NI

Oh yes, and welcome!

Hi Big Dogg. I'm new here and from Belfast too. I've just last night bottled my first brew. I used a kit as well. Coopers Canadian Blonde.

I'm with you on the bottling thing. There must be an easier way.
Where did you get your bottles btw?

I bought my bottles from someone that was getting out of the hobby here in Belfast. Picked them up quite cheap. I need another 40 bottles to bottle my lager over the next few days though lol.

For my next brew, I think I'm going to try making a cider from supermarket apple juice. Have seen a few different recipes that look super easy to make.

I also had my first sample of the blueberry cider last night and it was perfectly drinkable. Tasted more like mixed berry than blueberry, but I have no complaints about that. It still tastes a bit strong of alcohol, so I have most of the remainder of the bottles still aging at room temp (20°C+) and will move 1 or 2 bottles to the fridge in a few days time.
