Hi Hoddy,
I see you've made this Idaho 7 Pale Ale more than once so I guess you like it. Just received a consignment of 2018 harvest from Geterbrewed with no alpha acid declaration- none on their website either. Do you have the same harvest and, if so, could you tell me the alpha acid content. What do you like about this hop, by the way?

I don’t have the same harvest (as far as I know) as GEB as I have got mine from CML and THBS both were @ 12.5% AA and I think that is a good base line to take from a bitterness calculation. It is worth bearing in mind that their cohumulone levels are quite high so I wouldn’t use it hot side bittering. Just hot side whirlpool <80oC.

23l of Jon Finch California Common (now in keg) and 23l of Malt Miller Tribute clone fermenting.
Total = 13,630l

I heard somewhere (think it might have been The Late Addition podcast) that cohumulone isn't any harsher than the humulone, just more bitter. So you can use a bit less of a high cohumulone hop for the same perceived IBUs

Since my last post (end of May), I've brewed:
19l of "Steady Hopper" all-grain, my take on an alter ego to Heady Topper,
19l of "Proper Fruit Loop" IPA all-grain(lots of citrusy hops),
19l of "Oxygen Is The Enemy" all-grain (a hazy, wheaty IPA), and
19l of "Zero Gravity", a Youngs New World Saison kit,

Total 14,132

I'm sorry, despite having been on the forum for a while now i haven't added my numbers here. So.....

Totting up everything I've bottled so far in 2019 from AG#4 to AG#22 (and excluding the two batches i had to ditch asad1) brings me to 172L :beer1:

Total 14,304
