Hello.

I was at work a few days ago, building site, Edmonton, NE London. Saw wild hops in the September sun. Remanded me of 1987 when i spent a happy month picking (and drinking, scrumping, ferreting, and discussing life with girls).

I picked a good double handful, went to Wilco after work, bought a fermentation barrel, an IPA kit, some spray malt and just did it. I now have, potentially, a green hop beer. And I'm a novice. Luckily, a colleague has 200+ German reusable bottles he forgot to hand in for deposit after a Summer camping trip.

9 days on, the brew is bubbling at 2 minute intervals. ... advice welcome.

Welcome to the forum.
This may be useful to you as a refresher

Not sure if you have added your hops yet but if you haven't this might also be useful.

You will need a hydrometer to confirm when you beer has finished fermenting in the FV (fermentation vessel). If you haven't got one then leaving it two weeks is a good rule of thumb.
Hope your green hop beer works out OK. athumb..

Hi and welcome Steamy
I was factory manager at the Coca Cola factory in Edmonton in 1987.

Hope your beer goes well

I'm back home now, will be in the flat tonight and check on progress...

Just had first bottle.

If i say so myself it's (more by luck than judgement) really nice.

Green hop beer my first brew; very very hoppy, tiny bit hazy, (hop oil?) good foamy head, slight sweetness, i really am chuffed.

Not sure how to add a picture and i only have a small glass in the digs; will liberate a pint pot from the pub tomorrow.

Proper cheered me up.
