... and decided to move over to "Extract Brewing" and "One Brew at a Time" so I have to following to offer for sale:

  1. A 100W Aquarium Heater. (Used in a trug for fermenting.)
  2. A Heating Pad. (Used for fermenting.)
  3. A Temp Control with Probe (Used to control the Heating Pad above.)
  4. An Inkbird STC 1000. (Laughably wired.)
  5. A 25 litre Wilco Fermenter.
  6. A 25 litre Wilco Fermenter with a Heating Coil. (Used for Hot Strike and Rinse Water.)
  7. A 25 litre Wilco Fermenter with valve for bottling.
  8. A Bottle Wand for the above.
  9. 25+ 650ml Flip-Top Bottles with Tops.
  10. A Bottle Tree for 45 bottles.
  11. 4 x Stainless Steel Bowls that I used for weighing out the grain.
  12. A set of Spring Scales (to 2kg) that I used for weighing out adjuncts.
They all worked fine the last time that I used them but:
  • Where appropriate, the Electrical Wiring isn't certified 'cos I did it myself.
  • Some of the 650ml bottles still have a brew in them! (I refuse to thrown a brew away!)
I daren't give them away 'cos SWMBO will take lumps out of me if I do, however they can be picked up for £20 from our home in Skegness in the next couple of weeks if you let me know that you want them.

If no-one wants them by the end of this week-end, I will put the lot (less the bottles of course! :laugh8: ) on the Spilsby Market Auction this coming Monday 9th September!

PM me if you want to pick them up 'cos I'm not going to post them! athumb.. athumb..

Sorry, but no-one has offered to pick up any of the above so they will all be going to the Auction at Spilsby Market tomorrow morning!

Just a bit about the Spilsby Auction. Many years ago (back in the 1960's) I was at the market with my Dad and noticed a set of silver plated fish knives and forks that rather took my fancy. I pointed them out to Dad and then went walk-about to have a look at whatever else was on offer before the auction started.

I returned just as the auctioneer was offering the fish knives and almost immediately I heard the auctioneer say "Half a crown! I'm bid half a crown." There was no response from the crowd so I indicated that I would go to five shillings. My bid was acknowledged and I then had to watch my Dad (who had appeared from nowhere on the other side of the crowd) bid seven and sixpence to buy the fish knives and forks.

I was a bit upset to say the least; back in those days, half a crown (12.5p) was a lot of money, so I walked over to Dad to protest. He was quite proud of the fact that he had bought the knives and forks for me for "Only seven and six!" so I pointed out that I could have bought them for five shillings had he not outbid me! "Ha!" was the response "I was the one that bid half a crown!"

Happy Days!!

Ah. Shame.

Wish I'd seen this a little bit earlier...

I've still got a Bottle Tree for 45 bottles and about 30 x 650ml (ex-Fischer) Flip-Top Bottles; complete with spare tops and washers, if your still interested.

Pick up from Skegness of course: and you may have to make it quick. The Solicitors seem to have stopped going on holiday and our move to the new house is now described as "soon"! ( I think in "solicitor speak" this means "Sometime in the next decade!" aheadbutt aheadbutt)

I'd certainly be happy with the bottles, if you don't mind - but it would be Saturday before I could get to you!

Do u have any bits left?

Just the Bottle Tree.

I'm moving over to 2 x 25 litre PB's, 2 x 10 litre PB's and 4 x 10 litre Growlers so it will be redundant when I finish off the remaining bottles of ?????

The ???'s are because I'm not sure what some of the remaining bottles actually contain! Yesterday I poured what I thought was a Robust Porter only to discover that it was one of my "Mars Bar" concoctions.

Started in March 2016 the Barley Wine tasted like liquid black chocolate so, as it hadn't mellowed after a couple of years, in August 2018 I diluted it, added some caramel flavouring, added some Gervin 12 yeast and re-carbonated it. It was a great improvement but one that needed drinking slowly; hence the bottle discovered yesterday!

That is one advantage of bottles! It's possible to forget the odd bottle or three and when they are rediscovered it can make for a pleasant surprise! athumb.. athumb.. athumb..

I have a few melingering bottles of a very over carbed possibly infected Cali common I made over two years ago. It's crystal clear and doesn't taste bad but fizzy is an understatement...I should sling em really.

I try to never throw stuff away ...

... but we are supposed to be moving home soon and carting dozens of bottles to the new house just didn’t seem a good thing to do!

It’s amazing how some brews survive! I think that yesterday’s offering was from a B&M Ale kit which after +/- 10 months was very tasty.
