I would make it as it is or you won't know if you have improved it by adding to it then next time you can experiment and compare

I have made this kit and found it OK as it was I prefer the WB Sav Blanc kit, I havent added anything to improve them.

I've made lots of the winebuddy chardonnay and I thought it tasted like vaguely nothing. Then I tried it with a real chardonnay and they were almost the same. The flavour pack doesn't contain too much glycerine either, so you can use the whole lot.

And ignore the 7 day thing. Either take a hydrometer reading or leave it nearer two weeks. Then get it cold if you can when doing the finings.

Instructions say place lid loosely. Is this correct? I have put lid on firmly with airlock

Personal opinion is these kits are cheap for a reason, there's very little actual grape juice in them. Best way to improve is to buy something a bit more premium like a Beaverdale. Most of my WOWs taste better than the WineBuddy kits I've made.

I like the WB Sav Blanc as a change to the Range store MYO Rose we regularly make we don't drink expensive wine so are happy with the taste.

Thanks CT. I’m a newbie. I have done 2 kits successfully, one red and one white. Now doing one with supermarket juice. Purple grape, apple and pineapple. I week in and looks more like milkshake but bubbling nicely

Looks amazing very clear but tastes vaguely of chemicals. Going to let it mature a bit to see if it improves

IMO the cheaper white wine kits are more forgiving than red and as Count D says Chardonnay has very little taste to it so can not be far off even as a budget kit. These wine kits are for quaffing and not for connoisseur's and pretty good for what they are made for. Just make as is for your first attempt so that you have a base line to mark other attempts with or pimping up
