What dry yeast for a stout

Hi everyone,
I’m planning on brewing the Dry Stout recipe from Greg Hughes book, and he recommends Wyeast 1084 irish ale yeast. I usually get my ingredients from Worcester Hop Shop or Ballihoo and neither supply this. Can I use to S04 packet yeast or the Windsor ale yeast for this?
 
Yep you could use US05, S04, Windsor, Nottingham, or CML have a Beoir yeast for Scottish and Irish ales.

+1 for the Beoir. It's quite good in my experience and specifically with that recipe. About to do it again next week

Can't tell you more than I've done the GH dry stout recipe before with US05, which was good but with this yeast it was better. I ferment in a chest freezer, pitched at 16 and ramped to 21. Will do the second brew with it next weekend, same recipe give or take but am keen to try it on a bitter which will be next I reckon

Thanks. Im using MJ Libery Bell and/or Empire Ale for my bitters at the moment. But when it gets too cold in my brew corner I wanted something with an attenuation of about 75% and the Boir seemed to fit the bill
 
I recently made a milk stout into which I pitched a pack each of Windsor and SO4. It turned out well. Next time I think I'll just go with Windsor only.
