I fear this will be my last ever post on here before being blocked, but here goes.

I am drinking the last of my barrel ioff my EKG user upper. It's very nice indeed, if a bit strong.

This means, ahem, I have now completely run out of homebrew. Completely. In my defence, we've had a mental six months with the eldest child having open heart surgery (don't worry, she's 200% fine), parents having heart attacks in the outer Hebrides (also now fine) and having to have cancer chopped off my back (again, not the dangerous kind as it turned out and I'm fine), work being batshit crazy, and the Mrs finishing her final year at Uni.

However, they are poor excuses for a brewer to run out of beer, so I apologise. acheers.

The good news is a new brewery has opened in the next village and can sell me base malt at a great price so I'll soon be back at it!
Jeez, what a six months! I reckon that it is - just about - forgivable to run out of homebrew under the circumstances.

Seriously, really impressed how positive you seem after all that. All the best with getting brewing again

The Kernel Imperial Brown Stout (clone). Well, I'm off work tomorrow so eff it!

Thanks mate, that's very kind. To be honest, it was all a bit of a blur during the close to the knuckle bits; you just crack on because you don't want to scare the kids / add to the better halfs woes. I was very fortunate; my Mrs is a proper sensible Lincolnshire lass, the kids are likewise, my employer very fair, and fortune was on my side, so I had it a lot easier than many and have no complaints. I think once you've spent 72 hours in pediatric intensive care with a loved one who is going to be ok, and made the mistake of looking around to see what else is happening, you suddenly realise how lucky you are.

I shall therefore be brewing lots to celebrate. athumb..athumb..

Spent a few months in SF a couple of years ago, found the best bar to be the International Sports Bar, on (or near) Columbus Avenue... Great selection of beers, on tap and in bottle, and a good atmosphere. Also recognisible as the street used for the Bullitt car chase.
Sounds right up my alley, thanks for the tip! I'll keep my wits about about me so as not to get hit by any wild hubcaps.

Another Cloudwater- CY18 Amarillo and Centennial. Very pungent 'dank' pine and hints of orange. The brewers went out to Yakima and picked their own hops for this one. The return flights from Manchester are reflected in the price..

On the commercial ale, having run out of proper homebrew. Ahem.

First up was a Ringwood Old Thumper, which I've tried before, and I just can't get on with, which I find odd as on paper it should be right up my street. Perhaps I should seek it out in cask?

Consoling myself with a McEwan's Champion. A lovely beer.

Mrs is working at the local boozer tonight so I'm on my own looking after the kiddywinkles. Been to Lidl and got 2 York brewery 'Yorkshire Gold', and two Lidl ales, their porter and IPA. Will report back later.

Squeezing the last drops from stocks: A bottle of Pendle Blond Witch, a GH Dunkeweizen, and the dregs of a PB of Ordinary Bitter.
Not fussy tonight. :beer1:

I’m in France at the moment. Bizarrely though super u had Spencer’s Trappist ale in stock which I’d never seen before (it’s the American Trappist brewery). Very pleasant.
