It works a treat, got it set up to switch heat pad on at 20.5c and off at 21.5c. Heat pad is sold as a pet heat pad for pampered pooches and moggies.
Can plug in a cooler too.

Its that time of year again, got about 6 kilos of grapes this year, all crushed with a couple of litres of asda red grape juice, in bucket with a sachet of white wine yeastView attachment 21033
Just picked my grapes, had 6.8 kilos before crushing! Never made it before, so my question is :-do you boil the juice to sterilise it at all, or just use a campden tablet? May be a daft question but like to get it right! Cheers

Just been reading that recipe again and I'm wondering if maybe I should have separated the juice from the skins and pips before adding the yeast as opposed to fermenting it all, hence the accumulation of what looks like black pudding from the outside of the bucket.
The airlock has been working since I put clingfilm between the bucket rim and the lid.
Today is 7 days since it was started, so I reckon I'll strain the whole lot into another bucket, let it settle for a couple of hours then syphon into a demijohn
