Currently watching Preacher on Prime at the moment. It's absolutely brilliant.
You should check out The Boys also on Prime, written by the same bloke (well the source material is at least). A seriously dark and twisted take on superheroes, and I loved it.

Anyone watching "Watchmen" on sky? I'm a big fan of the source material (perhaps obviously) and even the Zach Snyder movie but I'm really struggling to get into this after 4 episodes. I hope it's gets much better soon.

Heard this was out and was sceptical given how good the movie was. I thought it'd be very hard to live up to and by your impressions sadly sounds like that is indeed the case.

By the way, following you're earlier advice, I watched The Boys - just finished it the other night. Fantastic! Not as good a Preacher but really good still. Glad to hear season 2 is coming although not until mid 2020 sadly.

I loved the Watchmen film not seen the series as I won't pay Sky for anything. I do recommend The Expanse and Man in the High Castle.
Ps Steve
Do you walk about like Dr Manhattan?

Anyone watching 'Wisting' - BBC Four's Saturday night foreign slot?

It's another Scandi detective drama, which clearly takes a lot of its inspiration from The Bridge, but it's very well done and I'm really enjoying it. Four parts in - another two tomorrow night.

I watched it and loved it, probably my favourite series of last year

I loved the Watchmen film

Strange how there's so much love for the Watchmen movie, i detested it.
I love the source graphic novel though.

Just watched OJ Simpson vs the people. What a fantastic watch.

Also Manhunt-Unabomber is superb.

I just finished watching The Witcher on Netflix. Really enjoyed it and a second season is confirmed as being in the works.

I was already a big fan of the source material (or more accurately the video game which was inspired by the books) but I'd say it's worth look if you're a fan of Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones or similar stuff.

There's not that much love for it, 64% on RT. Also it's not strange that someone likes something you don't, just a difference of opinion is all :hat:

Yes, I’m watching it and it inspired me to start learning Norwegian again - I did a bit for a ski holiday years ago and found myself understanding bits and pieces of the dialogue. I do get bored with the whole ‘serial killer of beautiful young women’ concept though. Apart from anything else it just massively flags certain characters as inevitable victims. But other than that it’s excellent.

I just finished watching The Witcher on Netflix.

I thought this was excellent. Never read the books or played the game. Actually I’d never heard of it til it appeared on Netflix.

I think if it was just about Henry Cavells character it might get a bit samey, as he is a fairly wooden character. However with the rest of the cast along with him and the side plot with the magic woman it’s quite entertaining.

And the sword fighting is cracking lol

Yeah, agree the depth of the cast helps to vary the interest and the sword fights are off the chain. The fight in first episode was unreal.

Just watched Criminal UK on Netflix. 3 episodes, 45 minutes each. Not like anything I’ve seen before in that each episode focuses on a different case and is all about the final police interview with the accused. At the end of each one, the police decide if they’re going to the CPS or not, but you don’t find out what the decision of the CPS is or what happens if the case makes it to court.

It’s an interesting idea, very well done and the acting is top class throughout.
