On a side note, does anyone know if VAT is applicable on homebrewing ingredients?

Surely if biscuits are not VATable, yeast and hops shouldn't be?

For me the pub is a great institution.They are allready closing down at fair rate of knots another stiff duty hike would only finish even more off.

Drink driving laws and peoples working lives has meant the traditional pub struggles to function now especially without serving food which then leads to gastro pubs which aren't the same thing at all. Its such a shame and tax puts a nail in the coffin.
