Been thinking of going to a 60l barrel for fermenting, but am a little concerned about temperatures. Biggest fv I used before was 25l and that only ever needed heating, even in summer.
Would something that size need the ability to be cooled as well?
Have considered building a box in the garage with an old fridge one end and bar heater in the middle controlled by an STC 1000 but would want to maybe fit the 60l + a couple of 25l tubs, would that be too big?

Cheers for any advice TC

How much are you planning to put in it? I'd say unless you're built like an outside brick lavatory cubicle anything over 30l will be difficult to move. You'd have to either elevate it to Syphon or pump the contents out.

50l at a go, was thinking of raising it up on blocks or using a submersible pump to empty it

How much do you drink that 23 litres at a time is not enough? :laugh8:

Lots!
Without going into detail, I do drink it in a err consolidated format

Over a year since my last post on this, sorry been locked away lol
60l barrel worked out okay in the garage. I have it raised up high enough to drain out a tap I put in, straight to a 5 gal bucket.
