Just started brewing, I did a couple of extract brews in my student days (several decades ago now) but have gone for all grain BIAB for my first brew of my retirement years.

Have set myself up with a Buffalo 40L I got for 60 quid on ebay, a fermentation fridge that I also got on ebay for 20 quid, took out the thermostat, added a heater & am controlling temps using an inkbird.

My first brew is currently fermenting (the malt millers Boy Taylor recipe kit)

Brewday was fairly smooth, the buffalo cut out 1 minute from the end of the boil, I'm not going to worry about that and have already detached the thermal cutout for the next brew, OG was high as boil off rate a bit higher that I'd measured. I didn't adjust maybe I should have done...

Anyhow hope to be bottling next week - cant decide whether to cold crash it first or not. I'm going to have to move the fermenting bin out of the fridge as I can get the siphon in over the top - I think I'll fit a tap for next time - any thoughts on moving the fermenting bin before siphoning (was planning to siphon into a bucket to batch prime for bottling)

Anyhow that's me .
