Got sent to the attic for the Christmas decorations and came across my old Sony 5 disc multichanger stack system which had skipping cds, tape decks not working and record player not working.
I decided it was time to take it down and fix it if I could and low and behold its now working though have to order a new cartridge for the turntable but with a screwdriver, surgical spirits and cotton buds we have superior sound again.
It's amazing the sound quality from this old unit which I bought in 1997 for £200 ex display and this will certainly help with a brew day....

Had a mate who was into his hifi l loved the sound but it was silly money back then.

Used to make my living for a few years selling the stuff.
Nowadays i only watch movies,The earthquake sound effects are truly something to behold.
For some reason i dont know what i rarely listen to music anymore,Even the stuff i used to love in my younger days.

Sony was a top brand in the 90's, still have a receiver lying around somewhere. They lost a lot of goodwill after that.

Britain used to have some great hi-fi companys back in the day.Sadly few have survived the passing of there founders.

One or two stars still shine in the darkness so all is not lost.

I think the Americans now have the edge on high end stuff rather than the Japanese.

I feel genuinely sad for anyone who goes through life thinking music sounds like an mp3 played through a phone.

I agree Onlyme.

MP3 is a "lossy" compression system and in my opinion a retrograde system.

System capacity is so vast these days that there is no need for it.
But the youngsters dont seem to mind.

My wife had bought me a portable record player a few years ago and I have played a couple records on but the sound quality was poor but play the same record on the hi-fi and wow what a difference. I've played more records in a few weeks than I have in quite a few years..
