Sounds like you have it working now well done.
Sorry I didn't reply earlier but this thread didn't show up in the newest posts list so I had no idea.

You would have needed to bypass the thermostat anyway to get the better control so you did all the right things. athumb..

William Perry (aka The Refrigerator) was awesome! He played for the Chicago Bears and helped them win Super Bowl XX in 1986 ...

... and as an avid American Football fan I watched every second of it ...

With regard to the subject of refrigeration, I was introduced to refrigeration systems on the Theddlethorpe Gas Terminal back in 1972. It was closed down in 2018. God I feel old! aheadbuttaheadbutt

Know how you feel Dutto
Inside i am about 30 but outside nearer 90

Age is not a good thing esp,When you see younger people making the very self same mistakes as we did.
And so it carries on.

I got rid of a fridge a few weeks ago as it stopped working possibly due to the flooding incident though it did work for a week after. I called a repair guy and was told if the motor isn't starting its not worth repairing. Anyway replacement was £60 on ebay plus a few pints to a customer who collected it for me. I highly recommend second hand so far on Ebay I got tall larder fridges for £26 £55 £150 (the one that died) & £60.
