I love the diversity of tastes in just a few responses - some of you I will never trust tasting feedback from!

I'ts amazing the combinations that seem tempting and sensible after a few pints. My partner was served lemon curd and coleslaw sandwiches once.

Olives or peanuts for me, or cheese and pickle with wine.

Anybody here make their own pickles?

I think you may be on the right track here @Richie_asg1 , there can’t be any other explanation for some of these combos

If you like the original flavour mini cheddars give these a try i could eat a bucket full on a Saturday night. :laugh8:

Pickled chillies, chilli picalilli, cucumbers, beetroot. Not that fussed about pickled onions.

Anyone like a pickled egg??

Yep, don't see them much but when I do like to eat them in the traditional northern way of shaking it about in a bag with crushed up cheese and onion crisps to give it a savoury coating.

I do so love snack food when combined with a pint or three.

Pub stuff, has to be scratchings, cashews, decent crisps, love a spicy tortilla chip. Love a peanut but they don't seem to agree with me now days.

Moving up from there, cured meats and cheeses, olives, dips like hummus etc., decent bread. Though a lot of that lot also goes nicely with a glass of wine.

Then there's the picnic type stuff of which the pork pie is king with a pint. Closely followed by scotch eggs, sausage rolls, pasties and various other pastry items. Ideally combined with pickled items i.e. onions, gherkins, cabbage etc.

Actual food, currys are the ultimate, anything barbecued, pies, burgers.

I'm hungry

It's gotta be peanuts mixed with finely chopped chorizo or a mixed platter of cheeses with copious varieties of chutney (bacon jams my favourite).
