I’ve had fermentation’s that fast although this kit usually takes a while.
Good beer at the end of it though
My evil dog ipa went fast too but I have it outside wrapped in blankets connected to an ink bird so it’s not getting too hot.

I’m happy it didn’t get stuck though so I’ll leave it for another week or so before hopping

Despite being at 1.008 this is still throwing bubbles up every few minutes. Plan now is leave it another week in the FV, Dry hop for 3-4 days then cold crash for 3-4 Days before bottling/kegging. Might take another gravity next week and reassess if its not moved from 1.008

Looks like this has fermented in 5 days at 22C. Gravity is 1.008. Gonna leave it for 2 weeks total and let it settle. Tastes and smells great though so don’t think the fast fermentation has done any damage.
Five days sounds about right. I've had it ranging from about 4-7. I like to keep mine at 22c. But I do leave for the full 2 weeks. I find this clears pretty fast too.

Thanks, good to know as this is only my second brew. Do you keep it warm after you hop?

Took another gravity today with the intention of hopping this weekend for 4 days then cold crashing for bottling the weekend after. Gravity is static as to be expected but wow does it taste better. Really promising considering how my double ipa came out.
Looking forward to a finished sample in a few weeks time

On offer at £17.99 full range

Threw the hops in yesterday and noticed this is very dark in the fv, a little concerned.

Got this brew bottled and mini keged last night. Tastes pretty great even without the fizz. It is very cloudy in the bottles though which I was trying to avoid but maybe 3 days cold crash wasn’t enough.

tucked up in the warm now for 2 weeks to carb and then I’ll age in the shed.

Sorry for my slow reply. yes once you add the hops keep going as you started. Maintain a constant temp and try to minimise any fluctuation. As you brew more you will find your own flow and get a better idea of what works best for your setup. It's a continuous learning cycle. Id recommend starting your next brew soon after you bottle this one. Get into the mindset that each brew is roughly 2 months (2 weeks fermenting, 2 weeks carbonating, 2 weeks clearing + 2 weeks extra) That way you're less likely to be impatient waiting for your beer to be ready.

Got this one on the go again, think it's the third time I've made it. Going into a corny this time along with a few bottles to take up the difference between 19L and the kit volume. Probably get another for summer drinking.

Hey guys,

I just kegged this up at the weekend.
The Young’s Microbrewery Kit says to add 2.5oz of the priming sugar to the Pressure Barrel.
The Beer Kit Instructions just say “..add the priming sugar” with no specific amount.

I added 2.5oz, is that enough? Should I add the remaining? CAN I add the remaining?! Or is it too late now?!

thanks in advance
