The helix coil looks interesting, anyone know of UK suppliers?

My robobrew is out of action because the hose backflush burst one of the pump connection pipes, so beware of that method..

I bought mine from China, $3.00 US each MattMill Lauter Helix from Germany is the closest to you, there should be someone in the UK selling them. It has to be so big because of the higher viscosity of the cooled wort, a small 1 meter one will not work unless you are no chilling then there is nothing better.

My robobrew pump blocked today. I think it was a combination of to fine crushed grain - bought crashed - and added loose pellets hops. Hops first time without the spider. So far tried blowing, water from the hose and diamond with oxi. Will try again tomorrow. Will use muslim bag next time for hops. It is maybe a sign I need my own grain crusher

When I read my instructions for the Guten range of SVB's it states the pump not to be run during the boil, I checked with the manufacturer of the pump and they are rated to 80 C. Even so I would never run it during the boil. odd bits of grain should go through the pump easily and get dumped on the top of the grain bed (I don't use the top screen) same goes for the flour from the grist. In a perfect world if you could mill the grain to flour and keep the husks intact you would end up with a better efficiency, but it doesn't work like that.
If you want to whirlpool through the pump, take the advice above of putting the hop pellets in a bag. The downside of the small filter over the intake of the pump is if you do get grain missing the grain basket then those pieces of grain stay in the boil.

I managed to unblock it, just with bit of a wire. There were some grains stuck there. But I think I will use rice hulks or similar next time. Mass was bit thick

They're really small, and the one that came with my hopcat clogged up. I made another larger one with a FF right angle, a barbed reducer and a 6" filter.

Well, I already bought it:) I will try my next brew with it:) If it clogs I will try to do same thing as you did:) Thanks for the idea and the picture!
