Former movie producer Harvey Weinstein has been found guilty of two counts in his sexual assault trial.

He has been convicted on lesser charges of third-degree rape and a criminal sexual act in the first degree.

But Weinstein, 67, has been acquitted of the most serious charge against him - of predatory sexual assault and first-degree rape.

He still faces charges in Los Angeles of rape and sexual assault of two women in 2013.

Weinstein had pleaded not guilty to sexually assaulting former production assistant Mimi Haleyi and raping Jessica Mann, a former aspiring actress.

The jury of seven men and five women reached their verdict on Monday morning, the fifth day of deliberations.

The case was at the centre of the #MeToo movement that inspired women to go public with misconduct allegations against powerful men.

Basically the rich and the powerful are not above the law, a good result for everybody. Shame he wasn't found guilty of all charges.

Where hes going hes gonna be a target, somebody inside will want to say they gave him a good hiding or worse - Good Luck my man you'll need it SCUM!!!

At 67 I doubt he will be around long I cannot see him growing much older inside.

power = abuse. why even post this chippy? Remember the head of the IMF Strauss-Kahn? these types forcing themselves on the less fortunate for their own gratification is disgusting. can you blank me from this thread?

I dont know the man personally so i cant comment on his actions.

However what I have learned from my 63yrs on this earth is that power corrupts.

So nothing would supprise me.

Prince farqua seems to have escaped any connection I see.

excuse my ignorance what is third degree rape, rape is rape so were does first second and third come into it, having said that don't matter were you live or which country the laws are set to protect the ones with money to burn

It's a concept that we don't really have on this side of the pond, first degree is nonconsensual with the use of force, third degree is "just" nonconsensual. Or eg if they're under 11 it's first degree, under 17 it's third degree. This article explains it a bit - https://www.thecut.com/2020/02/what-is-third-degree-rape-weinstein-charges-explained.html
