In the next week or so I'll be transferring 19ltr of Cider to a spare Corney.
As mentioned elsewhere I'm a beer man and only brewing this out of date Cider kit because it was given to me for free.
I'm brewing it with fresh yeast and 1kg sugar. Additional to the can instructions I've also added a jug of strong tea.
I would like to get the sweetness to something like "Woodpecker".
I'm thinking of back sweetening by adding 50g Canderel artificial sweetener to the Corney before I pressurise it.

Any thoughts on my 50g Canderel / 19 litre ratio to achieve "Woodpecker" sweetness please.

if thats not enough, you could allways add more to your taste once you have carbed and tried it.
Thanks for that Mickthetrick ... I think I read somewhere (but maybe I'm incorrect?) that back sweetening with sweeteners in the glass kills the carbonation straight away and that's what I want to avoid.
I'm sure that someone out there has the ratio dead right.

Thanks Mickthetrick I've never made cider before.. I've been waiting for the fermenter and one of my Corney to become free.
So this is uncharted territory for me.. I've been asking around for a week or two...no luck finding a definate answer.
So unless I hear anything else I'll probably go for 50g Canderel in the Corney.
Fingers crossed.
I doubt it will be to sweet for my palate. If it is I'll either try to top up the Canderel or add dashes of Blackcurrant or orange cordial in the glass.

Transfered to a Corney this afternoon.
Went with Canderel 60g/19 litres.
Initial tasting very impressed sweet to my taste.
Toffee apple flavour.
Gassing it at 26psi.
