With the solar panels it varies - last brew I did with the sun out and it was Mash 8p, sparge/boil 38p. A brew I did in December that started when it had already got dark was £1.51 including tellies and computers n stuff.

If you're being a real tight-**** with the solar you can heat the water at a wattage that matches what the panels are outputting. Maybe ok if you're starting the day and haven't sorted out your grain but otherwise sod waiting about for that.

Ive been a brit gas customer since January and haven't had a correct bill yet, it took me 5 months to convince them I had smets2 meters fitted by previous supplier.Brit gas still cant recognise them, they're changing them today, what a pollava. Sorry just ranting.

I have 1 fridge, 2 fridge/freezers, 1 freezer and a reverse cycle aircon which runs 24/7/365 for my fermenting room. We don't have lock in contracts. If a Labor government wants to pay me a feed in tariff of 64 cents and charge me 20 something cents per kilowatt hour I will take it till the cows come home. Who pays for it? Those who can't afford to.
I have often thought thermal power stations would be the answer, Victoria is littered with extinct volcanoes, surely there must be a way to harness the energy beneath our feet.
