@JT_Brews, I also want to control staff with the RPi and to use iSpindel as an input. However, I hadn't found the time to build the hardware interface. Would you mind sharing what is your setup?
I don't use a hardware interface, I'm a coder not an engineer damnit. Instead I use a device (Broadlink RM4 I think) that can be told over wifi to send RF signals that switch RF controlled sockets on/off.

But that's just because I had the kit laying around from a few years ago before smart sockets were more developed, if I were doing it now I would do it directly with wifi controlled smart sockets. That seems a lot easier to me than messing with hardware.

The two packages quoted above are actually two versions of the same code.
avollkopf/iSpindel-TCP-Server is the newer version (v. 3.1).
Sorry, my bad used the wrong link, I've posted the right one now (I hope).

Fermentrack - BrewPi-Compatible Fermentation Tracking Software offers logging and temperature control. However, the temperature used for the control does not come from iSpindel, but from temperature probes connected to another ESP8266 which controls relays connected to heating and cooling circuits. So you will need to build something but it is well documented.

i use fermentrack but will stick the RaspySpindel image in storage and maybe try it with a future brew. thanks for the link.

Can someone please post their wpa_supplicant.conf file

I can't get mine to display english

Can anyone remember what they did to get the web page to display in English? I've changed all the timezone and local settings, but the web page is still in German

Found it.

Go to third button the right from home page, select the last option from the pull down menu and there you will find the language option

@dearleuk Glad you found everything, sorry at work and didn't get a chance to look. I use Fermentrack for my control, but I found this image very useful when calibrating iSpindel. I didn't bother with the most up to date version as this image had everything I needed.

Only just seen this thread! I use my ispindel with mqtt posting to home assistant - all inside my home network and nothing public. Works great and all fairly straight forward.
