    My 2nd year cascade has around 8 shoots. The 1st year Styrian goldings around 3. The latter was a Christmas present that was opened and kept warm before I had to ask to be given it in November To plant it. Had to trim a 6in shoot off. Is the cascade going off too early?

    Thank you. I think I’m on track now. I get a Robobrew in a week and will start with a pale ale but the Abbey yeast will be used quite soon. Just switched to Brewfather as BeerSmith kept trying to ask me to mash in with 0.8L water (at -14pH), Brewfather lists both named recipes

    I managed to get 102g of dried cascade from my year 1 plant. I think I picked them too early last Sunday (the stragglers left on the bine are now smelling a bit more pungent). Has anyone got an idea of a ballpark AA for recipe building or should I just cram the lot in at flameout?

    Thanks for the feedback AJ. It’s no good, can’t stop myself from tinkering- I’m going to toast the oats and also add some cold-steeped coffee to the secondary. Monsooned Malabar AA coffee in fact. Supposed to have a smoked aroma!

    As a 1st year Cascade grower I’m avidly watching this thread. Picked a couple of cones this evening and they’re still at the grassy stage. I’m in Bristol and they’re on a too windy westerly site, one nine growing up a string up a fence then up onto the southerly garage eaves. Will post more soon

    25L Pale/IPA. Mostly Maris Otter with 500g Vienna and carapils, wheat and medium crystal. Magnum for bittering and 100g Enigma in late (45g dry hop to follow) US-05.     Thank you. I can see them on pre-order on Brewkegtap. Daft question #2: I assumed these systems would work like BIAB in that the grain would simply be lifted up and drained before boiling. Should one embrace the sparge?

    Thanks for this @DavidHeath. The Brewzilla 35l looks like just what I’m after. 5 AG brews done using a 33l pot BIAB on a gas stove and I’m struggling to find the time to brew. Is the 3.1 only available as a pre-order from Oz?

    Mangrove Jack’s Belgian Abbey M47 in an APA?

    Thanks everyone. Went with 05, as usual although I rehydrated for the first time. It sat about for an hour or so because my measly 8mm x 10m chiller took an age to bring it to 25c.
