    Single lever bench cappers

I bought mine from brew2bottle for around £17 and it works fine.

    First wine kit advice

You'll have to let us know how it works out. I think my brewing set up is more suited to the winter, but as I only started in May I'm yet to find out. Good luck!

I'm hoping to save a bunch of them for Christmas 🎄

    First wine kit advice

Fingers crossed. I have literally nowhere else colder that I can put them 😂

    First wine kit advice

Just bottled this wine kit, after leaving the finings to work for 9 days. I used a bottling wand rather than a siphon, which is how I bottle beer and it worked pretty well. The first bottle was cloudy, as I think the sediment settled a bit on the tap, but after that the next 28 were clear. Last...

    Coopers Stout OG waaaay off

So this stout has had 2 weeks in the FV, 2 weeks carbonating and a further 5 weeks conditioning. Just tried it and it still has a homebrew smell, but it tastes pretty good. Very strong and bitter, good head which stays, I'm going to leave it for another few weeks and try again but overall I'm...

    ****Fermentasaurus Mega Giveaway****

Please count me in, I'd love the Fermentasaurus Gen 2 Starter Kit. I'd be a worthy winner because...errr...well...I went bald at 17 and now I'm nearly 40 and my knee hurts when I run. I'd leave a detailed review and include it in any future beer reviews I do, I'm new to this and it would be a...

    First wine kit advice

I'm going to leave it until fermentation is completed as per Chippy's advice, it's bubbling along happily at the minute. Got to admit it's been closer to 25 than 20 degrees because of the weather recently but still within recommended levels, so should be fine. I'll keep you posted 👍

    First wine kit advice

So today if fermentation day 5. Instructions advise to rack this off to a secondary if it is at 1010 at this point, but you can leave it til fermentation is finished completely. Anybody racked midway through fermentation? I'm inclined to leave it personally...

I have no idea what that is either 😂 glad we're on the same page, makes me feel a lot better. Just about to pitch the yeast...

    First wine kit advice

I'll be using a fermenting bucket with large lid for primary (as per instructions), but another identical bucket for the secondary, rather try than the instructions recommendation of a standard wine fermenter. 🤔

    First wine kit advice

It's got an airlock, just wondered if there was any other reason why people seem to use carboys instead of buckets for wine.

Thanks Chippy, I'll get it started tonight then!

    First wine kit advice

I've just bought myself a 30 bottle Beaverdale Chardonnay/Semillon kit, thinking I could make said kit using my 24litre fermentation buckets I use for beer brewing. I've had a look around YouTube and everyone seems to be using carboys. Can I get away with just using my fermentation buckets?

    Paypal scam warning.

The scams are getting quite complex now, some a pretty convincing. If you're dealing with any company who claims they are 'investigating your bank', that's not true. They're a few steps away from getting you to transfer your savings into a secure account (definitely don't do that). Hang up, go...

Mangrove Jack's Brewer's Series Golden Ale

So its now been six weeks since I opened the kit and started the brew and today I've got stuck right in. The ale is crystal clear (apart from when I poured in all the sediment accidentally 🤦‍♂️). It's really easy drinking, and I was worried it wasn't very alcoholic, but it's caught up with me...

@Brew2bottle Homebrew have got a load of these in stock today. I'm ordering myself a Gold Lager

Mangrove Jack's Brewer's Series Golden Ale

This is my first ever homebrew, so went for something cheap and cheerful, after reading that golden ales are easy for new brewers. I've not seen a review for this kit so here's mine... The instructions advise to use 1kg brewing sugar but swapped this out for 1kg brew enhancer 2. The kit comes...
